The Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit is the power and knowledge that flows from Supreme Power. It creates life, sustains it and destroys it; it made prophets prophesize the future, it made Jesus’ disciples speak in languages they didn’t know.

What else gives command to a baby to develop different organs at the right time while it is in its mother’s womb and what else commands the planets to set its speed while revolving around a star!!

Jesus was of the Supreme Power because he received Holy Spirit from the Supreme Power. The Holy Spirit descended upon him as a dove at the time of his baptism.

Imagine a boy standing on a beach collecting water in a small vessel from the vast ocean. The water in his vessel has the same characteristics of the ocean, it has the same salinity and contain same minerals and dissolved gases. The water in that vessel represents the ocean. It is not an ocean for a man but it is still an ocean for a micro organism. Whether it is an ocean or not depends on the onlooker.

Jesus collected the water with a bigger vessel than ordinary people. He received so much more power and knowledge from the Supreme Power that he can rightly be called the Son of God. In essence he was God himself as he was no different from God. Yet you can’t equate him with God because he was a receiver of the Supreme Power.

Can we say that Jesus was the Only begotten Son of God? John 3 : 16 says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Again John 3 : 18 says He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Genesis 6: 2 says That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

In my book A Day with Manual also I have mentioned that God created man not from one group; but from two – children of Man and Children of God. Jesus clearly don’t count them because they were created for a specific purpose and were destroyed during the floods of Noah. (More details given in the lesson Floods of Noah)

In John 3 16-18 Jesus was talking with reference to his time. If you ask a person how many children does he have and he says only one; does it mean that he shouldn’t have more children in the future? He is merely talking with reference to his time.

So in the beginning there were Sons of God, then there were Prophets and then Jesus, the Son of God and now is the time of the Son of man;  all of whom are blessed with the Holy Spirit.

Anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will be speaking against the Supreme Power and they won’t be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

What about you?

You also receive spirit from the Supreme Power.  Your spirit is also a part of the Supreme power.

He, who can concentrate well enough, can draw power and knowledge from the Supreme power for whoever asks shall be given and to whoever knocks the doors will be opened.

Whoever is given talents by the Supreme power will be asked to return it fivefold and tenfold. Those who are given more will be asked to return more. Some of you will be able to return fivefold and tenfold of what is given, some of you will retain what is given without increasing or decreasing it while some others will squander it. And you will be rewarded according to what you return.

It has been said, Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. When all of us strive to increase in spirit who the poor in spirit are, who are blessed and who will inherit the Kingdom of heaven?

The development of a child in its mother’s womb is not because of its or its mother’s knowledge or efforts. That knowledge or spirit comes from the Supreme power. It’s already written in its cells, the child knows when to develop heartbeat and when to develop organs.  Sometimes that spirit can go wrong and that child will be born imperfect. It can be a child with disabilities or different abilities. It’s no fault of theirs that they are born that way.

They are the ones poor in Spirit and they will be compensated accordingly. How can they be judged when the Spirit itself has gone wrong?

What about the Spirit of Truth?

The Spirit of Truth is also blessed with Holy Spirit.  Whatever he shares with you is taken from the Father and Jesus. His knowledge is true because it comes from Jesus and Jesus got it from the Father.

And it’s your duty to share this Spirit with others. Let this spirit flow from one person to another as foretold by Prophet Joel.

Joel 2: 28-32 says And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, and your young man shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my spirit; and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood and fire and vapor of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: and it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Now let’s understand why the Spirit of Truth comes to this world?
