lesson 4

The Spirit of Truth

Let’s go through the relevant portion of John 14,15 and 16 to understand more about the Spirit of Truth.

John {14:15-17} If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete (Intercessor or Comforter which is often used), that he may abide with you forever; [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John (14:26} But the Paraclete, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John {15:26} But when the Paraclete is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

John {16:7} Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Paraclete will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you.

Jesus has used three different names each with separate identities to describe that person, whom he intends to send to the children of this generation.

  1. Holy Spirit
  2. Paraclete (an Aramaic word meaning Intercessor, Advocate, Comforter)
  3. Spirit of Truth

We have seen from the last lesson that the Holy Spirit is the Power and Knowledge that flows from the Supreme Power.

In Lesson 1 The Parable of the Prodigal Son we have seen that the Second Son comes with nothing of his own and has to depend on the knowledge that is already shared by Jesus in Bible. In other words he come to you as an ordinary person or a Son of Man. He is the Paraclete, the Intercessor and I claim to be this one.

Now let me explain how I tried to lead you to all truth when I was unaware of my position. I wrote a Book in the form of a Novel, A Day with Manual, and wrote it in such a way that the main character Manual is telling you all the truths. So the Paraclete takes the knowledge from the Bible and shows it to you through a character of a Book. That why Jesus said ‘The world cannot receive him, because it doesn’t see him, neither knows him, but he will dwell with you and shall be in you.’

The author talks through the character and so there is no difference between the author and the character.

God (Father) > Son of God > Son of Man. The Son of God receives from the Father and the Son of Man receives from the Son of God.

Holy Spirit > Paraclete > Spirit of Truth

The Paraclete receives from the Holy Spirit and deliver it through the Spirit of Truth. A common man need not go into such fine distinction between the three, for him the three are one and the same.

What can the Spirit of Truth teach you and how can it guide you into all truth when you already know everything?

Well, let’s check if you already know everything.

Didn’t God, the Omniscient, know when Adam and Eve were  about to sin and why didn’t he stop him? Who were the spouses of Adam’s children? Why did God bless Man and woman to multiply only after the Noah’s floods?

If you don’t know these truths about the beginning of mankind then it is time to learn more about the days of creation.
